As I've said a few days ago, Rum and Jewels of Heartsdales are breaking up.
Check out their webbie: http://www.heartsdales.net/060620/i ndex.html
Apparently, their show on September 2 in Shibuya O-East is going to be their final live performance.
Here is a translation of the message courtesy of Made in Paradise:
“Thank you for supporting us for 5 long years.
Up until now, we’ve released a lot of works as Heartsdales.
After the release of our fourth album Ultra Foxy, we had a chance to talk about which way are we heading hereafter.
And we’ve decided to end it after our live on September 2.
It may be the end of Heartsdales, but we both agreed that we should head on and try new things.
We’re very thankful for your support. Thank you!
We can’t see where we’re going from now,
but we might meet again as different artists in the future.
When that time comes, please support us again!!
Love Always,
Jewels & Rum”
So sad...I can't say I'm a big fan of theirs, but yknow, I still feel the pain of their fans as fellow J-Urban listeners. But who knows, they might produce better albums as individual artists. Things like this happen, just like when Lisa left m-flo. Sometimes, an artist's gotta do what an artist's gotta do and all we fans can do is support them and watch as they spread their wings and venture into unchartered territory. I can't say it would be in everyone's favor, but we gotta live with it.
Now, let's wish Bennie K won't break up or it might be the end of candy hip-pop.
